Sequence 1.

0.01-0.08

This shot starts at a wide-angle view which is pointed down towards Natasha and Clint walking along a sand bank, the camera then tilts up showing off the distinct purple sky which covers vormir and as the scene progresses it pans towards the one mountain which sticks out along barren land. This gives a sense of dread as it gives the impression that as it goes from Natasha and Clint to the mountain, it feels as though its warning the audience that something bad is about to happen.

Sequence 2.

0.30-0.40

The beginning of this shot starts with a low camera angle pointed up towards Natasha and Clint who are staring down the side of the mountain, this gives a feeling of how distance and that though we can see them closer than they appear but that far away. As the scene progresses the camera slowly zooms in towards their faces which the closer the camera gets the more dread the scene puts out as you can see the conflict flowing through their expressions.

Sequence 3.

2.50-3.09

At the start of the shot the camera shows Natasha at a high camera angle which allows us to look down on her but instead of disappointment that looking down on people is associated with we feel remorse knowing the situation the two are caught in, the puts out that fear of dread the scene goes on to show Clint at a low camera angle holding up Natasha as he looks down in fear. The scene progresses with a back and forth with similar angles of Clint and Natasha which drags on as Clint fights to save Natasha while Nat has accepted what she has to do, the emotions conveyed in this takes the audience through a rollercoaster of emotions.

Sequence 4.

3.26-3.32

The shot presents itself in a wide camera angle of Natasha as she lies lifeless at the bottom of the mountain and as the scene carries on it rotates in a circle as the camera slowly zooms in towards Natasha's form. This scene even though short can bring out many emotions.

Sequence 5.

4.25-4.40

At the beginning of this shot, it starts as a close up shot of Clint's face, it stays as this in a tracking shot as the camera slightly turns left and captures the pure sadness, which is displayed on Clint's face, it stops to capture how broken clint appears as he realises what he has lost. The scene ends in a wide-angle view of Clint kneeling in the soul lake, this makes him appear small as though he has lost all things significant in this world.

  1. Well done Ellie. Great use of terminology. Be careful you don't slip into just describing the scenes - focus on the meanings created by the media language used
