Homework - James Bond posters

“The products constructed to market James Bond Films are designed to offer a clear appeal to a wide global audience of young males aged 17-35” Discuss.

I agree with this as the age range of 17-35 fits with the poster you see above which reveals a woman with multiple hands doing tings to Bond such as feeling over him in a needy way while some of her other hands are seeming holding things for him, the text that reads “nobody does him better” implies along with the image that she is only there for him alone which represents her bring objectified as it implies that she is only object to be used for him alone, also the use of the text “octopussy” in big letters can also be used to imply that the woman is only there to entice men by making in a sexual way. He also stands in front of her her with his arm crossed while the right one holds a gun in a confident way which bleeds off dominant energy, he knows he is in charge as his facial expression has a look that says ‘I can’t be touched’. The representation of this is that men all have power over woman, this entices young men of all sorts as it brings confidence to them knowing that they have the power to control.

This poster above seems to have an older target audience as well due to the mise en scene which presents the almost nudity of the woman who are all positioned behind bond while they pose in a sexual way to present as much skin as their outfit allows them to, this objectification creates the idea that the woman are only there to be used as props to draw in a percific target audience under the impression that they to only see woman as objects. Bond also appears bigger in the image which entails that he is the one with the power here as even though  it shows only the top half of his body the image is still bigger than the full body images of the woman, this implies that they are small in men’s eyes and that there exsistance is insignificant as they will never be on there level. All throughout the text it has nothing to do with the woman this leads me to assume even more that the woman have no use other than sexual enticing on this poster.

This poster is different  from the others as it appears more appropriate for a wider range of target audience such as younger kids as there are only text and one image of bond which mainly focuses on the film and nothing else. There is no inappropriate images  or text which helps me believe that poster making has changed greatly insincere the 1960s as no woman are being objectified or downgraded.
